The status is "pending" until modified notes on the form

I have many people as approvers.
I'd want to add an option that allows the approver to request to modify the form before approving it by adding a remark.
The request is then returned to the author for modifying and then complete to approval, with no need for re-approval for the prior approvers.

Regarding this:

If an approver needs more info about a request, can the form approval status be set to “pending” so that the current approver can first add comments for the last approver to act on before the form is routed back to the current approver?

How can it be applied in my operation? I need more explanation, please?

Hi, I believe some of the bundled apps in a new installation, for example the Expenses Claim App, would have a similar approval design which you can refer to. Alternatively, you can also try the Process Enhancement Plugin that makes it easier for such common approval flows.
