Configure Manage Permission Menu - Category Use

I am trying to set up nested permissions. I want some userview categories restricted to aircrew, and some further restricted to aircrewWSOs, etc. Without having to assign a user to multiple permission keys. How do I use this Category column depicted above?

The Category column is just for description and has no effect on the permission properties. Do enable the "Enable Refined Controls (Requires Admin User Role)?" property and this will allow you to define permission for the following sets:

Is Admin
Is Anonymous
Bean Shell Script
Department
Group
Logged In User
Organization
Is Sub Level Userview
User

Use Setup Groups to bundle your aircrews into their respective groups and use these groups in your Permission Menu.
