how can i transfer a value to a grid?

hi! i want to know how will i transfer a value to the grid, for my example, when the user clicks the button add. the text of the select box "item" will be transffered into the first column of the grid. thank you! here is a screenshot

hi walter, i am trying to understand the codes, but i cant seem to make it work, how will i implement this into mine? can you make a sample code?

where do i put mine? cause my method doesnt need tranferring to different forms, it will only pass whats inside the selectbox into the the first column of the grid. field id for my selectbox is "options" and fieldid for my grid is "grid". can you provide me a sample code so i can fully understand? thank you very much Walter!
