filter/datalist filter option-autocomplete filter bug

Hello,
When i put a filter and set it to auto complete, I am getting the auto complete options and get the right results when i click on them but as soon as i enter some value to search in the textbox it gives me previous results irrespective of what i have entered.
Example: Autocomplete options has 1,2,3,4,5. I select 5, i will get all entries of 5. But now, instead of selecting it, i type in 1. i will keep on getting the 5 result entries.
Requirement: Auto complete should be working but if user enters something like a text field then it should work as a text field filter.
Please, help me out.
