How can I create a Process Status Menu with a column showing the pending activity(s) instead of a link to the path or chart?

Confluence User - 24 Jul, 2021

My manager would like a process status list like the example shown except, instead of a link to the chart or path to see the activities, he would like just a column with the current pending activity name(s) for all active processes.

Hi, I think the "like the example shown" is missing, perhaps you can share which example you mean?

Hi Anders,

Thanks for responding. I was able to accomplish this with a workflow variable for the current pending activity and a tool before each step to update the variable. I am doing a proof of concept for my company and hope to demo tomorrow. I am just stuck on one remaining thing and am probably missing some basic concept.

My sequence of activities flow nicely between users as shown in the Universal Inbox. However, I need to show other columns to the user so I am trying to use the Datalist Inbox. The List I have created to populate the Datalist Inbox shows the required info in Preview, including the Activity UUID. But the Datalist Inbox accessed from the Menu shows empty and I want to see clickable Activity names in the first column just like I get in the Universal Inbox, along with other fields from the Form.

Are there any clarifications or examples that you can offer?

Thanks so much, in advance!

Bill

Hi, I believe the Datalist Inbox cross references the list data with the current user's task assignments. Hence it only displays the rows where there are pending assignments for the current user. If you want to display data from multiple users then you can try using the standard List instead of the Datalist Inbox.

Hi Anders,

Thanks but I may have confused you by switching questions. On my current issue I do want to only display the rows where there are pending assignments for the current user. What I am unable to get in the Datalist Inbox is the same first column I see in the Universal Inbox displaying the activity name as a clickable link taking me to the form associated with the activity.

Thanks!

Bill
