Protected Text Field

Introduction

The Protected Field plugin allows users to secure sensitive data entry by requiring a passcode to view or edit field values.

This plugin bundle is compatible with Joget DX 8.

Expected Outcome

When using the Protected Text Field, users will see "** Value Protected **" displayed if the field contains any data, along with a lock icon indicating that the content is secured. Attempting to view or edit the field will prompt the user to enter a passcode. Only after entering the correct passcode will the actual value become visible and editable

Get started

Steps

1. You can obtain the .jar file from the latest release at Joget Marketplace.
2. Upload the plugin jar file in Joget by going to Settings > Manage Plugins.
3. You can choose to import the demo app or create the app from scratch.

Steps for importing the demo app

1. Download the demo app  kb_dx8_protectedTextfield.jwa.
2. Go to Joget Home or All Apps and click on Import App to import the downloaded demo app.

Steps for creating an app from scratch

1. Begin by creating a form and drag the Protected Text field element into the form.
   
2. Now generate a CRUD and launch the UI using the Click here option.
   

Steps to run the plugin

1. In runtime, go to Manage Form 1 and click New.
   
2. Click the lock icon next to the protected field. A dialog will appear requesting the passcode entry.
   
3. Click Edit. You will see that the text field value is masked and displayed as "Value Protected". Click on the lock icon again, and upon successful passcode entry, the actual field value will be revealed.
