Send JasperReports PDF in Email Tool

Introduction

You'll learn how to send a JasperReports PDF as an attachment using the Email Tool in Joget DX 9. This process allows you to automate report distribution via email by leveraging the JasperReports plugin and the Email Tool. You'll follow a straightforward setup to attach the PDF report to your email.

How does it work?

The following steps ensure that the PDF report is automatically sent to the designated recipients every time the process is triggered.

1. In the UI Builder, open the JasperReports menu and enable the PDF option under Export Options. Save the changes.
   
2. In the UI, go to the JasperReports menu item.
   
3. In the JasperReports UI, locate the PDF link at the bottom right corner of the screen. Copy the link for use in the next step.
   
4. Go to the Email Tool settings in your process.
5. Paste the copied PDF link into the Files attributes in the Attachments tab.
6. Customize the File Name to your preference for better identification.
